Krystol Internal Membrane (KIM)
The world’s most trusted and original hydrophilic crystalline admixture
First launched in 1980 by Kryton International Inc., KIM is dosed into below-grade concrete during batching. The admixture reacts with water and unhydrated cement particles to form needle-shaped crystals that grow deep within the concrete, sealing capillary pores and micro-cracks and resisting water pressure.
| Self-sealing for life | When new cracks form, the crystalline structures reactivate on contact with water and expand until the path is blocked. |
|---|---|
| Protects reinforcement | Blocks water and waterborne contaminants, guarding against chemical attack and rebar corrosion. |
| Uniform coverage | Embedded in the concrete itself, so hard-to-reach areas are protected without external membranes. |
| Independently certified | Backed by NSF, CE, ASTM, ICC-ES and BBA approvals — proven, not just claimed. |
